When Should You go to the Emergency Room?
In the event of an emergency or a trauma, Lourdes
Emergency Room is ready and able to handle your emergency. Unless it’s an emergency, you should visit your Primary Care Provider or Lourdes Urgent Care.
Lourdes ER has a qualified medical staff including trauma physicians,
surgeons, X-ray technicians, and nurses, all committed to medicine
with a mission. Our full service, 24/7 emergency department physicians
and nurses care for over 25,000 patients each year.
This experienced
care team provides individualized urgent and emergency services
for our community. Lourdes’ long term designation as a Level III
trauma hospital meets the needs of our community. State-of-the-art
lab and imaging, emergency surgery, and observation/short stay
services support the care patients need when coming to the Emergency
Department.
You should call your doctor if you need:
- Yearly health exams
- Well - baby checks
- Care of minor ailments
- Immunizations
- Flu shots
You should call your doctor or visit Lourdes Urgent Care if you have:
- Minor burns or cuts
- Minor illness
- Minor sprains
- Ear infections
- Fever
- Sore throat
- Stomach ache
- Headaches / Dizziness
If You Have an Emergency
Go to the nearest Emergency Room. If you cannot get there right away, call 911. Call your primary care doctor within 24 hours of your emergency. If you cannot call, have someone call for you.
- Difficulty breathing, moving or speaking
- Chest pain
- Heavy bleeding
- Poisoning
- Broken bones
- Car accident { if injured }
- Choking
- Blacking out / Fainting
- Deep cuts or severe burns
- Attack by animal or person
- Sudden, severe pain and swelling in a joint
- Major trauma or injury
- Severe reaction to a bug bite / sting
- Severe reaction to medication
- Unexplained sleepiness or confusion
Intensive Care
Our fully-equipped, six-bed Intensive Care Unit is staffed with
a compassionate, caring nursing staff who are willing to take the
time to update family and friends on the condition of their loved
one. Included in our ICU is a complete Cardiac Care Unit, and in
cooperation with FMC Columbia Basin Dialysis, Lourdes ICU
also offers full inpatient kidney dialysis services.
The Intensive Care Unit is
a specialized area concentrating highly skilled personnel and specialized
equipment for the care of the acutely ill medical and surgical
patients requiring continuous treatment, observation, and monitoring.
Our ICU typically admits patients with chest pain, congestive
heart failure, major multi-system trauma, respiratory failure,
pacemakers, and cardio version.
