Lourdes Surgical Services

Lourdes Surgery Center offers both same-day and inpatient services. With a medical staff offering over 13 surgical specialties, Lourdes boasts a comprehensive approach to your surgical needs. Our staff is dedicated to your comfort and confidentiality and will strive to make your experience a positive one.

Many surgical specialties are available at Lourdes Medical Center. We offer eight fully equipped surgical suites, plus additional C-Section suites, GI Labs and minor procedure rooms. Coverage is provided by experienced surgical and anesthesia staff 24 hours/day. Procedures are performed on an inpatient, outpatient or emergency basis.

Outpatient surgery is done in our newly remodeled same-day surgical center, located at Lourdes Medical Center, and typically does not require an overnight hospital stay. Thanks to improved technology and minimally invasive techniques, more than 80 percent of all surgeries performed at Lourdes are done in an outpatient setting. Our newly expanded and remodeled same-day surgery center also provides a full-service gastrointestinal (GI) lab and bronchoscopy suite that serves the needs of surgeons, gastroenterologists, internists, and family practitioners. The same-day surgery area is technologically advanced and is capable of performing complicated diagnostic procedures.

Inpatient Surgery
Some patients will need to stay in the hospital overnight or for a few days following their surgery, depending on the type of surgery and/or the patient’s previous medical condition. As a precautionary measure, the surgeon may want to keep such patients in the hospital for observation.

Lourdes Anesthesia Department
The physicians and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in the Anesthesia Department at Lourdes provide high-quality anesthetic care for the full range of surgical, obstetrical and diagnostic procedures. Anesthesiologists and CRNAs work to provide the best operating conditions for surgeons. During surgery, the anesthesiologist will be responsible for regulating your anesthesia, monitoring your vital signs and taking care of your overall medical well-being.

MAKOplasty - Knee Surgery
Lourdes Medical Center is the ONLY hospital offering the MAKOplasty procedure in Eastern Washington. MAKOplasty is an innovative new treatment option for people with early to midstage osteoarthritis of the knee. Powered by robotic arm technology, the potential benefits of this minimally invasive procedure over total knee replacement include:

• Rapid relief and recovery
• Shorter hospital stay than traditional knee replacement surgery
• More naturally feeling knee with optimal implant positioning

Lourdes Medical Center was founded in 1916, and is now home to a comprehensive surgery program to meet our community’s needs. Our patients visit Lourdes for the caliber of our surgeons, the expertise of our staff and the reassurance of our advanced resources.
