Gastroenterology is a subspecialty of diagnosing and treating digestive diseases. This may include disorders that affect the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Certification in this subspecialty involves 2-3 years of additional medical training and testing specifically dealing with these types of diseases. Dr. Roach is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine for the subspecialty of Gastroenterology.
