Lourdes Thrive for Life

What is Lourdes Thrive for Life?
Lourdes Thrive for Life (formerly Club TLC) is a free program for people age 50 and better who want to be healthy and live well.

Membership is FREE and includes:
• Wellness workshops and events
• ScriptSave prescription discount card
• Newsletter
• Health screenings
• Discounts at local businesses
• Research help and referrals
• Your membership also includes a FREE COPY of Healthwise for Life, a 450-page health reference book. It contains the latest medical information about preventing health problems, treating them at home, and when to call a doctor.

Enrollment is easy. To enroll, simply download, print, fill out and mail the enrollment form in the brochure below. You can also enroll over the phone or request more information by contacting us at (509) 542-3062. Thrive for Life and Lourdes will never sell or distribute your contact information to others.

While it’s generally considered good fortune to have not visited a hospital, if you haven’t visited Lourdes lately, you’re missing out. The remodeling projects at Lourdes over the past two years have transformed an extremely functional facility into one that is also remarkably beautiful.

ScriptSave Prescription Discount Card
ScriptSave® is a prescription discount card that is free with your Thrive for Life membership. We began offering ScriptSave to members in 1999. In this time, ScriptSave has saved our members more than $103,000 on prescription drugs! Savings average approximately 20% on each prescription.

There are no age or income restrictions, and everyone in your household can use the card. Simply show your card to the pharmacist each time you fill or refill a prescription. There is no paperwork to complete and no limit on usage. Nearly all local pharmacies accept ScriptSave including Walgreens, Safeway, Rite Aid, Target, Shopko, Savon, Fred Meyer, Yoke’s, Costco, and Wal-Mart to name just a few. When can you use ScriptSave?
If you do not have health insurance, use ScriptSave for any brand name or generic prescription you pay for out-of-pocket. If you have health insurance, use ScriptSave for prescriptions not covered by your insurance. If you have Medicare and are enrolled in Medicare Part D, use ScriptSave for prescriptions excluded by Medicare Part D law. If you have Medicare but not Medicare Part D, you can save money instantly with your ScriptSave card.

Program History
Thrive for Life, formerly Club TLC

Club TLC, Lourdes’ free outreach program to those age 50 and better, has a long and successful history. The program has been serving local residents for more than 10 years. We have over 3,500 members and are growing everyday. Successful organizations periodically pause to review their progress and consider opportunities to improve. Club TLC went through just such a time of reflection and revision in the first half of 2009.

Here are some of the conclusions and changes that came about:
• We want to serve more community members. To determine how, we conducted a number of small focus groups and an online survey.
• The program will continue to be completely free of charge and for everyone age 50 and better. Club TLC will provide free health and wellness workshops, ScriptSave prescription discount cards, newsletters, screenings, referrals, discounts with local businesses, Healthwise for Life reference books, and more.
• We need to update our mission statement and graphic look. Our new mission is “to help adults age 50 and better be health and live well.”
• The final (and perhaps most surprising!) conclusion was that the program needs a new name. “Club TLC” makes it hard for people to remember and understand what the program is about. Possible new names were proposed, and one emerged very clearly as the favorite: Thrive for Life. Thrive for Life is appealing, positive, and conveys exactly what Lourdes hopes all community members will do – thrive throughout every phase of life.
